Ours began in May of 1997 when Marnie Miller Tanner Battistini founded Miller Tanner Associates after a successful career as a partner in a company that offered clinical support to the pharmaceutical industry. Since that time, MTA has seen more than 10 years of steady growth and now plans in excess of 85 meetings and events a year on six continents for the Pharmaceutical, BioTech and Medical Device industries.
Our business family, from management to production, will reach beyond to make your meeting a success. Every member of our staff is committed to make our team an extension of your team.
We balance MTA´s client base of major/middle Pharmaceutical companies with BioTech and Medical Device companies; no one company accounts for more than 25% of our total business. With the majority of MTA´s conference directors and planners being home-based, MTA has been able to grow by following the principal core belief that "if you do the right thing, good things will come." MTA invests in our employees, to which we credit nearly zero turnover, financial stability and continuing growth.

Marnie´s story
Marnie began Miller Tanner Associates in 1997 after having served as partner and Vice President of a clinical monitoring/meeting planning firm. As a talented organizer, Marnie has helped direct political campaigns on local, state, and national levels and has five years of experience in the legal field. Marnie´s professional experience, keen business sense and innovative vision have provided her with a solid foundation for launching a successful business. Since introducing Miller Tanner Associates, Marnie has strived to see that the company remain at the forefront of meeting planning technology and pharmaceutical industry needs. When our clients´ meeting needs evolve, MTA is there with a solution. Under Marnie´s accomplished direction, the MTA team members organize large and small domestic meetings, international meetings, and Web-Based meetings around the globe. She has assembled a global-minded staff with knowledge of countless worldwide meeting destinations on six continents. Marnie is invigorated by addressing industry challenges and encounters each new obstacle with a smile and a plan. Marnie leads by example and fosters this can-do attitude throughout Miller Tanner Associates.

Geni´s story
Prior to joining Miller Tanner Associates in 1999, Geni developed, owned, operated, licensed and subsequently sold a successful 13-branch service company in California. Geni began her career at MTA in meeting support. However, with her unmatched talent for creatively orchestrating professional meetings, implementing systems, and her eye for business, she quickly rose to the position of partner in the company and Director of Operations. Today as Chief Operating Officer, Geni is a skillful and creative leader who oversees the conference management team, the quality of our product and the daily operations of MTA. She carefully considers and strives to anticipate all client meeting needs, as she challenges the team to create customized, cost efficient, extraordinary meetings. Geni is an incredible resource to our clients and our team - always looking for creative solutions to accomplish the goal.

Charles´ story
Every company needs a strong financial lead and Charles takes the challenge to new heights! After acting as Miller Tanner Associates´ accountant for years, Charles left his own thriving accounting business to join MTA full-time. Charles has a hand in every dollar acquired and spent by MTA. He guides the finance department in the management of our funds and he´s responsible for some of our most innovative cost management systems.

Carrie´s story
Before bringing her talents to Miller Tanner Associates, Carrie served as a Training and Systems Administrator for a large travel management company. Carrie keeps all of our communications systems running at peak efficiency so we can offer the most flexible data access to our domestic and international clients. You could call her a computer geek, but Carrie´s talents stretch far beyond bits and bytes.

Conference Team´s Story
Having collective tenure with Miller Tanner Associates of 40 plus years, this is the team that will take your specifications and preferences and put them into effect to create a smooth flow of events from the planning phase, through registration and travel throughout guests´ stay at the meeting location and back home again with a flare for the detail and the ability to calmly anticipate and resolve any matter that arises. Clients refer to these ladies as "Grace Under Fire" as they are always able to firmly and gracefully achieve the stated goal. This is a team of educated, amazing women with degrees from University of Tennessee, Ole Miss, and Vanderbilt. They share special interests in community volunteerism members having received Humanitarian Awards for outstanding community service. They come to MTA with a combined 150 years plus experience in the hotel & travel industry, conventions and incentive trips from the French Countryside to the Amazon rainforest, wedding planning, non-profit fundraising organization, corporate customer service and free-lance large event management for more than 10,000 people.
They all have stories to tell from their travels around the world - from convincing an Italian cab driver to withdraw $1,000 in cash to allow her to retrieve a shipment to getting Euros stuck in American soda machines to using their foreign language skills to get meeting materials out of customs. Suffice it to say that this team individually and collectively "makes it happen" whatever the circumstance.
Over the years, MTA has amassed a long list of trusted associates around the globe. Oftentimes, special meetings require special skills: language expertise,
knowledge of local venues, or technical support. We are proud of the group of contract workers, Destination Management Companies and local guides and experts who
allow us to work in many markets with the same ease we have at home.

The administrative support team that works out of our US office in Lebanon, Tennessee completes the circle of full services to our clients. From here, we research around the world for the perfect location for your event or meeting, negotiate the best terms for our clients on hotel and vendor contracts, develop budget estimates, oversee expenditures and field customer inquiries and support our team with the latest in technology.
